Wash Day – Side Twists!

Hi ladies. How was your weekend? For some weird reason I’ve fallen in love with side twists and how full they make my hair look that I made side twists the whole of last week. Lol! I had an interview yesterday so I did side twists again but with a faux bun. I love the side twist and faux bun especially after I saw it on Keoshia’s blog – Mrsdoingme.
Here’s how my washday went;
Yesterday I loosened the braids and made side twists with a faux bun for my interview.

These edges must grow o!!

I love how full my hair is though
My hair has been breaking for 2 weeks now and I think it’s a mixture of several things. Firstly,the crochet braids I loosened may have contributed to the breakage as the tiny cornrows in front were quite tight and painful. I should have known better. Secondly, I read that when using Aphogee Keratin Restructurizer, a little goes long way and it should not be used daily. Poor me!!! I was so excited when I bought this product that I used it daily to moisturize so it may also be another reason for my breakage. Lastly, my protein leave-in used to be Elasta Qp Olive Oil and Mango Butter and I loved it but when I tried to replace it after it had finished it was out of stock. I kept going back to the hair store but they still didn’t have it so I had no choice than to try a new protein moisturizer which I didn’t like and that led me to try Aphogee.

To cut the long story short, I’ve run out of options and I’m considering texlaxing although I’m only 14 weeks post relaxer and was hoping to stretch to 20 weeks before my next texlax. Currently, I’m just moisturizing and sealing daily and protective styling to let my hair breathe. I’m also thinking of washing every 2 weeks from now on.

I’m open to all suggestions. Thanks ladies!
Have a lovely week ahead.
