Wash Day – Phro’s Growth Challenge Check

Hi ladies. How was your weekend? Mine was great and I hope yours was greater! Welcome to a new month; the month of MAY. This is the month of rain which signifies the beginning of new things. New and greater things will happen to us this month in Jesus name. Amen. I washed my hair last night because I was busy over the weekend. Luckily I finished early and not as late as I used to on other wash days. A new month also means it’s time for Phro's Growth Challenge check in.

Here’s how my wash day went;

Pre-pooed with Peppermint, Olive and Coconut Oil and JBCO for 20 minutes with heat. I love how my hair feels after a pre-poo – SOFT!!!
Washed thrice with Crème of Nature Shampoo. I still had to wash thrice to get most of the pre-poo out just as I did in this wash day. Although, I tried to use less oil for my pre-poo to see if that will help and it did. I think this shampoo doesn't like being mixed with oils. That is my conclusion.
Deep conditioned with Motions Moisture Plus to my roots and Organics Hair Mayonnaise mixed with Olive oil to my ends for 40 minutes with heat.
Rinsed thoroughly with cool water to seal in the moisture and applied my leave-ins Mega Profective leave-in strengthener and Elasta QP Olive Oil and mango butter to my hair when 75% dry.
Sealed with Grape seed oil and JBCO for my edges and nape.
Air dried for a few minutes and put my hair into 4 cornrows. I made cornrows because I have decided to texlax in 2 weeks’ time at 15 weeks post relaxer (almost 4 months). Reason been my hair doesn't seem to be enjoying this stretch and it looks more natural than relaxed. Hopefully I would texlax correctly this time.

I joined Phro's #GrowthChallenge2015 in January and I picked the Ninja Growth Routine and the Rested Growth routine. This is my check in for the month of May and considering I just suffered a setback from loosening my crochet braids, I’m not sure I have retained any length. Hopefully I won’t have any more setbacks so I can begin to see progress.
